Description : The course for the first Bloomsday was 8 miles long. The race began at 1:30 p.m. and the temperature was 81 degrees. Cars were allowed on the course with the runners. Olympic medalist Frank Shorter won the men’s race and Joan Ullyot won the women’s race. There were 1198 finishers.
